From the perspective of the tree, it cannot ever be too big. However a tree may outgrow the site it is planted in. If it is now blocking a view, creating too much shade, or causing an undesirable change in your landscape, it is time to look at the proper options for the tree and the site.

Let no "expert" tell you to cut down your tree. Most tree services make their profits by putting lots of material through a wood chipper. More cutting equates to more money. Please do not let a sales pitch convince you that your tree is unsafe or undesirable.
